Individual Counseling for Adults & Adolescents

There are many reasons that people decide to seek counseling. You may be experiencing a difficult phase of your life and want to address specific problems or concerns. Or you may want to work through deeper issues that have impacted your life for an extended period. Counseling can be a significant step toward making positive changes in your life.

Areas of Specialty Include:

Anxiety:

Anxiety is a normal part of human life, but anxiety becomes problematic when it becomes frequent, overwhelmingly intense, or interferes with daily activities. I specialize in working with individuals experiencing high levels of anxiety and in treating anxiety disorders, including: social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and specific phobias. Learn more by clicking here.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD):

For individuals with OCD, experiencing a seemingly endless cycle of obsessions and compulsions becomes consuming, taking up increasing amounts of time, energy, and other resources. I have advanced, specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), which research has shown to be the most effective form of therapy for treating OCD. Learn more by clicking here.

Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD):

In the months and years following a traumatic event, some people find that they continue to experience problematic reactions, such as increased avoidance of certain activities, people, or situations, frequently feeling on edge or closely watching surroundings, and intrusive thoughts, flashbacks, or nightmares about the trauma. I am certified in providing Prolonged Exposure Therapy, which research has shown to be a highly effective treatment for PTSD. Learn more by clicking here.
